Friday, January 29 marked the 15th annual EITC Awareness Day, a national effort to let low-income taxpayers know they can benefit from the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and other refundable tax credits.

Here in California, community leaders, state officials, and state legislators marked the occasion on social media by posting photos in Golden State Opportunity’s “EITC” face masks and using the hashtags #EITCAwarenessDay and #CalEITC4Me.

GSO welcomed the involvement of elected leaders, with State Treasurer Fiona Ma, Assembly Majority Leader Eloise Gómez Reyes and  Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors Chair Hilda Solis recording shareable videos to reach low-income California workers.
